Having to wait for dental care when it reaches emergency level can be overwhelming and not to mention extremely painful. At Gentle Smiles we treat you as we would treat our own family and that is why we offer same day emergency care whenever possible.


We know dental emergencies situations threaten your overall oral health and our goal is to take the pain away, quickly diagnose the problem and get you back to normal. Your well being is our priority!


In the case of an emergency here are some helpful steps to reduce pain before your emergency visit.


Broken Tooth

  • Save any broken tooth pieces
  • Rinse mouth with warm water
  • Apply a cold compress to the area

Lost filling

  • Attempt to seal tooth with temporary tooth filling material, available at local drugstore or use piece of sugarless gum

Abscess

  • Rinse with salt water and quickly make your way to our office

Knocked Out Tooth

  • Carefully rinse off area of missing tooth
  • Do not remove any tissue attached to tooth
  • If possible, place tooth back in socket
  • Hold tooth in place by biting down on gauze

Stuck Object

  • Carefully attempt to knock or force out Object out of position the object
  • Gently use dental floss

Toothache

  • Rinse mouth with warm water
  • Floss to remove food particles
  • Apply cold compress to painful area and to reduce swelling
